The Tree
[12.23.02]

A boy walked through the forest
Who'd lived in the prarie his whole life
But there the colours were new and exciting
Every tree truly a beautiful sight

He walked through shrubs and bushes
Crisscrossed through trees and limb
But as he progressed he soon noticed
A wave of hunger passing through him

Now up on the branches of the tallest tree
There was a mound of beautiful fruit
Famished and salivating he stared above
Realizing his thoughts were moot

Too scared to go the distance
Too hungry to waste his time
He closed his eyes in aprehension
And decided whether or not to climb

He'd never been up a tree before
Used to short grass and flat terrain
If he were to chance that enourmous tree
He could wind up in a lot of pain

So I ask this question truthfully
Which is the right decision
To climb the treacherous tree above
Or to ignore the hunger and keep living?
